About the Role
The Lead Insight Analyst leads insight delivery and commercial performance across a defined Commerce Media vertical, working closely with Commercial teams and retailers to translate customer, campaign, and revenue insights into actionable plans that support growth and identify new revenue opportunities. This role also involves setting quality standards, developing analysts, and ensuring data-driven commercial decision-making.
Responsibilities

- Turn customer, campaign, and revenue insight into clear activation plans.
- Support growth, protect performance, and identify new revenue opportunities.
- Set quality standards across the vertical.
- Develop Analysts and Senior Analysts.
- Ensure insight is used to make better commercial decisions.
- Own the insight agenda across the vertical, aligned to commercial growth priorities.
- Directly lead analytics for the aligned sector within the vertical.
- Take accountability for identifying revenue risks and growth opportunities within the sector.
- Ensure performance, engagement, and revenue outcomes are actively monitored and optimised.
- Work alongside Commercial teams to proactively identify new retailer opportunities.
- Lead revenue performance reviews across the vertical and priority sector.
- Shape optimisation plans with Commercial and Marketing partners.
- Support forecasting interpretation and improvement discussions.
- Embed agreed analytical and measurement frameworks across the vertical.
- Improve how frameworks are applied to complex retailer and sector challenges.
- Identify where existing approaches are unclear, inconsistent, or not fit for purpose.
- Feed practical requirements and improvement opportunities into the Senior Lead and/or Head of Insights.
- Ensure measurement outputs are commercially useful, consistent, and clearly understood by Commercial teams and clients.
- Act as an extension of the Commercial team, contributing to retailer strategy, account planning, and growth conversations.
- Lead insight input in high-value pitch and performance conversations.
- Influence investment and engagement strategy within the aligned sector.
- Position insight as a driver of revenue growth and competitive advantage.
- Manage Senior and Insight Analysts.
- Embed agreed quality standards across the vertical.
- Elevate commercial thinking and analytical rigour.
Requirements
- 6+ years’ experience in retail, loyalty, marketing effectiveness or commercial insights.
- Proven track record of leading complex analytical initiatives that influence commercial strategy and revenue outcomes.
- Experience owning high-value sectors, portfolios, or revenue-critical workstreams.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted analytical partner to senior Commercial and Marketing stakeholders.
- Strong SQL capability and confidence interrogating complex, large-scale datasets.
- Advanced analytical thinking with the ability to connect customer behaviour, media performance and revenue drivers.
- Experience integrating multiple data sources to form cohesive, commercially relevant insight.
- Comfortable applying statistical reasoning and structured experimentation principles.
- Proficiency in BI and visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to communicate complex findings clearly.
- Uses AI and analytical tools to strengthen commercial insight, identify growth opportunities and enhance decision-making across the vertical.
- Strong commercial mindset with ability to prioritise analysis based on revenue impact.
- Proven ability to translate insight into clear strategic recommendations.
- Experience contributing to performance reviews, forecasting interpretation, or revenue optimisation discussions.
- Confident influencing and challenging stakeholders constructively using evidence.
- Demonstrates ownership of vertical-level performance and accountability for revenue outcomes.
- Applies and embeds agreed methodologies across the vertical.
- Manages and develops Senior and Insight Analysts.
- Operates with autonomy, judgement and commercial awareness.
