About the Role
GULDE & PARTNER is seeking an entrepreneurial individual to actively shape our strategic market development. This role is crucial for our growth trajectory.
Responsibilities
- Client acquisition and sales: Identify, approach, and acquire new clients nationally and internationally in close coordination with the firm's partners.
- Develop and implement acquisition strategies for defined target industries (e.g., technology, pharma, mechanical engineering) and company types (e.g., SMEs, start-ups).
- Build and maintain a structured CRM system for systematic management of leads, contacts, and client relationships.
- Prepare and support pitches, presentations, and proposals for potential new clients.
- Actively participate in trade fairs, conferences, networking events, and industry events to represent the firm.
- Client relationships and key account management: Build and maintain long-term, trusting relationships with existing clients.
- Identify and leverage cross-selling opportunities.
- Regularly maintain contact with existing clients and coordinate feedback sessions to ensure high client satisfaction.
- Develop client-specific service offerings and support concepts in collaboration with specialized lawyers.
- Manage key clients as part of structured key account management.
- Strategic market and competitor analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze the market for patent and legal advisory services and identify growth areas.
- Analyze the competitive landscape and derive strategic recommendations for the partnership.
- Evaluate new business areas, target groups, and geographical expansion opportunities.
- Create market, trend, and potential analyses as a basis for decision-making for the partnership.
- Marketing and communication: Develop and implement a coherent marketing and communication strategy for the firm (online and offline).
- Manage, further develop, and maintain the firm's digital presence on the website and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).
- Plan and organize firm-hosted events, client seminars, and webinars.
- Ensure a consistent corporate identity across all office locations and communication channels.
- Collaborate with external agencies, service providers, and media partners.
- Strategy development and firm management: Work closely with the firm's partners on developing and implementing the growth strategy.
- Create business development plans with concrete goals, milestones, and KPIs.
- Regularly report to the partnership on activities, progress, and results in business development.
- Budget planning and control for business development and marketing measures.
- Initiate and support collaborations with associations, business organizations, and academic institutions.
- Develop a 'partner track' for the firm's lawyers in conjunction with the HR department.
- Internal coordination and knowledge management: Act as a liaison between specialist departments (patent, legal) and the firm's business development activities.
- Support the preparation and submission of proposals and tenders (RFPs/RFIs).
- Build and maintain a knowledge database of clients, industries, reference projects, and best practices.
- Participate in the introduction and optimization of internal processes in client management and communication.
Requirements
- Completed university degree (economics, communication or marketing sciences, or similar) – experience and proven success are key, not the specific field of study.
- Several years of professional experience in business development, sales, marketing, or a comparable role – ideally in a law or patent law firm, a consulting firm, or in professional services; knowledge of digital marketing and event organization is desirable.
- Proven success in client or new client acquisition, building sustainable business relationships, and key account management, combined with negotiation skills and a confident demeanor.
- Analytical competence for market, competitor, and potential analyses, as well as experience with CRM systems, KPIs, and budget planning.
- Basic technical or scientific understanding of the target industries (technology, pharma, mechanical engineering) is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English (further foreign languages are an advantage) and willingness to travel to our offices in Düsseldorf, Dresden, and Munich, as well as to clients, trade fairs, and industry events.
- Entrepreneurial thinking, initiative, a structured, results-oriented approach, and the ability to combine strategic planning with operational implementation.
