About the Role
Support people with disability to have the choice, control, and independence to live their best life. Based in Gymea, you will support people with disabilities to live their best lives, engaging with them to promote choice, encourage community participation, and make each day enjoyable and meaningful. Join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team.
Responsibilities
- Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
- Assist with personal care and daily living activities including meal preparation and domestic tasks
- Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
- Maintain thorough record keeping
- Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
- Advocate for client choice and control
Requirements
- Experience working with people with disabilities, including epilepsy management
- Previous experience working with behaviour support plans
- Experienced in manual handling
- An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
- Comfortable to drive a large van to support community access
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
