About the Role
Texas Oncology is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) for their North Austin location. This full-time position offers a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends, call, or major holidays. The role can be filled at a level 1, 2, or Sr, depending on the candidate's experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care, promoting continuity.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide education.
- Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction.
- Administer medications and blood products accurately.
- Ensure pre-authorization and consent forms are obtained.
- Facilitate dose modifications by assessing patients, labs, and consulting protocols/physicians.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments.
- Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
