About the Role

Texas Oncology is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) for their North Austin location. This full-time position offers a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends, call, or major holidays. The role can be filled at a level 1, 2, or Sr, depending on the candidate's experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care, promoting continuity.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide education.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction.
  • Administer medications and blood products accurately.
  • Ensure pre-authorization and consent forms are obtained.
  • Facilitate dose modifications by assessing patients, labs, and consulting protocols/physicians.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Skills

  • Oncology certification preferred (Level 2+)
  • Oncology experience preferred (Level 1+)
