About the Role

The Loss Prevention Agent plays a critical role in protecting POP MART's people, merchandise, assets, and brand by helping maintain a safe, secure, and compliant retail environment. This field-based role partners closely with Store Leadership, Retail Operations, Human Resources, and Loss Prevention leadership to identify risks, investigate incidents, and strengthen operational controls.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor store activity to identify theft, fraud, operational risks, and safety concerns.
  • Conduct proactive investigations into internal and external theft, policy violations, and security incidents.
  • Prepare thorough, accurate, and timely reports documenting investigations, observations, and incident findings.
  • Support efforts to reduce inventory shrink and minimize financial loss through proactive loss prevention strategies.
  • Partner with Loss Prevention leadership to identify emerging risks and recommend preventative solutions.
  • Conduct operational audits to ensure stores are following company policies, cash handling procedures, inventory controls, and security standards.
  • Verify compliance with loss prevention programs, operational procedures, and company policies.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen operational controls and reduce vulnerabilities.
  • Support quarterly inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Assist stores in implementing corrective action plans resulting from audit findings.
  • Build strong partnerships with Store Managers and field leadership to promote a culture of accountability and asset protection.
  • Coach store teams on shrink awareness, theft prevention, safety practices, and operational compliance.
  • Provide guidance on loss prevention best practices while reinforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Support new store openings and operational initiatives by ensuring security standards are implemented from day one.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for store teams regarding asset protection and security concerns.
  • Respond appropriately to theft, emergencies, accidents, and other security-related incidents.
  • Ensure stores maintain a safe environment for employees, customers, and business partners.
  • Support investigations involving workplace incidents, safety concerns, or policy violations.
  • Escalate significant incidents to Loss Prevention leadership while coordinating with local law enforcement when appropriate.
  • Promote a culture of safety through education, awareness, and consistent execution of company standards.
  • Partner with Retail Operations, Human Resources, Facilities, Legal, and Store Leadership to resolve operational issues impacting safety or security.
  • Support company initiatives designed to improve inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance.
  • Assist with special investigations, audits, and projects as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and business information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in retail loss prevention, asset protection, retail operations, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
  • Experience conducting investigations and preparing detailed incident reports.
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory controls, operational compliance, and loss prevention practices.
  • Excellent observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and objective in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using incident reporting or case management systems.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
  • LP Qualified (LPQ), LPC, Wicklander-Zulawski (WZ), or other loss prevention certifications.
  • Experience supporting multi-unit retail organizations.
  • Experience reviewing CCTV footage and electronic surveillance systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory control systems, exception reporting, and retail analytics.
  • Experience conducting interviews and internal investigations.
  • Passion for retail, entertainment, consumer products, or specialty retail environments.
  • Must be able to regularly travel throughout the assigned territory (approximately 75% travel).
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while visiting retail locations.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move merchandise or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, climb ladders, and safely navigate stockrooms and sales floors.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Manual dexterity required to safely operate standard stockroom tools and equipment.
