About the Role

An exciting opportunity for a Court Reporter to join Australia's largest media organisation, News Corp's NewsWire, providing valuable content for all mastheads, news.com.au, the Australian, and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Create unique and engaging news stories and features
  • Write both hard-hitting news and engaging features
  • Work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced newsroom
  • Contribute to a multimedia newsroom serving one of Australia’s largest mastheads across digital and print platforms
  • Some weekend and intra-state travel may be required

Requirements

  • A history of court reporting for print and online
  • Proven track record of delivering front page stories
  • Display a good understanding of social media and its application to your stories
  • A solid understanding of news writing, journalistic ethics and media law
  • High levels of personal organisation and time management
  • Flexibility around working days and hours
  • Must have personal driver's licence
