About the Role

Join RBC as a credit risk manager specializing in data centers and AI infrastructure lending, including power generation, GPUs, and fiber. This position offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in a rapidly evolving sector while influencing deal structures and risk mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive credit assessments of data centers and AI infrastructure borrowers across project finance, borrowing base, and corporate lending structures.
  • Analyze complex data center and AI infrastructure transactions, evaluating construction risk, operational risk, sponsor strength, and cash flow adequacy.
  • Work collaboratively with business teams early in the transaction lifecycle to identify key credit risks and recommend appropriate deal structures and mitigation strategies.
  • Review and adjudicate Credit Requests within agreed timelines, assign appropriate Risk Ratings, and escalate exceptions to applicable policies and guidelines.
  • Conduct timely risk assessments incorporating continuous monitoring of financial performance, industry trends, regulatory changes, and early warning signals.
  • Review complex financial models, conduct scenario analysis, and prepare peer group comparisons to support risk rating recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, CFA) a plus.
  • 3–6 years in credit risk management at a major investment bank, commercial bank, or rating agency, preferably with some project finance experience.
  • Good understanding and willingness to grow knowledge base of hyperscale data center operators, AI infrastructure assets (incl. power generation and GPUs), and related project finance structures.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and the ability to evaluate complex technical documentation.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to challenge assumptions and critically evaluate risk assessments.
  • Ability to articulate complex credit analysis clearly through written recommendations and presentations to senior management.
