About the Role
This role initiates and defines Big Leap Health's Strategy & Ops function, reporting directly to the CEO. The position involves tackling high-priority, undefined problems, developing strategic recommendations, and executing plans. It's ideal for individuals who prefer owning outcomes over workstreams and are keen to understand the scaling of a healthcare technology company.
Responsibilities
- Define and build the Strategy & Ops function.
- Report on monthly priorities to the CEO.
- Manage the company's planning cadence and leadership alignment on quarterly goals.
- Engage with payer network teams.
- Recruit clinicians for the medical advisory board.
- Rebuild financial models based on operational data.
- Evaluate and improve Go-To-Market (GTM) motions and sales processes.
- Develop and present strategic recommendations and execution plans.
- Potentially build and lead a team as the function grows.
Requirements
- 6–10 years of full-time experience.
- Experience at a fast-growing, VC-backed early-stage startup.
- Ability to build financial models in spreadsheets from raw data and defend assumptions.
- Proficiency in turning ambiguity into actionable plans and executing them.
- Comfortable engaging in external conversations with stakeholders like payers, psychiatrists, and clinic owners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing board memos and payer pitches.
- Demonstrated ownership mentality, entrepreneurial instincts, and a sense of urgency.
- Familiarity with the modern AI stack.
- Experience in digital health or a proven ability to quickly learn new sectors.
- Genuine interest in the future of mental healthcare treatment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance culture.
- Experience in a hybrid work environment.
- Preferred: Digital healthcare startup experience.
- Preferred: Consulting, banking, or investing background combined with operating experience.
- Preferred: Exposure to payer contracting, reimbursement, or revenue cycle management.
- Preferred: Experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
