About the Role
Our Capital Assets practice is a unique specialist team within the EY Tax practice, focusing on using leading technologies to assist clients with unlocking value in their assets, management, and reporting of assets and capital expenditure. This role offers great opportunities for individuals with strong analytical and problem-solving skill sets.
Responsibilities
- Use leading technology to transform, integrate, analyse and visualise data, with a focus on capital assets, while developing practical solutions that drive better business and tax outcomes.
- Apply tax, accounting and commercial principles to client asset capitalisation processes.
- Assist in the review and management of fixed assets data, including tax and accounting fixed asset registers and asset capitalisation processes for clients.
- Deliver results by using data analytics to deal with large, disparate volumes of data, to gain crucial insights regarding a client’s capitalisation processes quickly from a tax and accounting perspective.
- Apply the latest analytics and automation solutions and artificial intelligence technologies to improve client’s fixed asset processes and unlock value in their business.
- Establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders including client personnel at appropriate levels and consistently deliver quality client services.
- Work and collaborate in a team focused environment to drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget.
Requirements
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- A strong enthusiasm for technology, including working with large data sets and continuing to build new methodologies, applications and analytical skills.
- A proactive, curious approach to problem-solving and learning new capabilities.
- A genuine interest in using emerging technologies to transform how clients interpret, visualise and act on business information.
- An interest in tax technical and legal research to develop a broad understanding of corporate tax, in particular, the core capital allowances principles.
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI).
- An ability to juggle multiple priorities and resolve complex situations quickly and independently.
- Ability to work and collaborate effectively and efficiently in a team focused environment.
- Willingness to undertake employment screening by EY or their external third-party provider.
