About the Role
Morris Adjmi Architects is seeking a talented Interior Designer II / Interior Architect II to join our growing Interiors team. This role is ideal for an experienced designer who enjoys balancing design creativity with technical execution across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with senior design leadership, you will contribute throughout the full project lifecycle—from concept development and client presentations through construction documentation and construction administration.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of interior design projects, from conceptual design through construction administration.
- Develop design concepts, space planning solutions, material palettes, and FF&E selections.
- Prepare client presentations, renderings, finish boards, and presentation materials.
- Produce and coordinate design development and construction documentation with increasing independence.
- Develop finish, fixture, appliance, plumbing fixture, and door hardware schedules.
- Coordinate drawings with architecture, engineering consultants, vendors, and manufacturers.
- Manage BIM coordination with project consultants.
- Assist in preparing project specifications and reviewing consultant documentation.
- Review drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with MA presentation standards.
- Participate in client meetings, consultant coordination meetings, and internal project reviews.
- Assist with RFIs, submittmits, shop drawing reviews, punch lists, and other construction administration activities.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers while contributing to a collaborative studio environment.
Requirements
- Professional degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
- 6+ years of professional interior design experience.
- Architecture license required for candidates applying as an Interior Architect II.
- NCIDQ, AIA, LEED, or other professional accreditation preferred.
- Strong understanding of all project phases, including construction documentation and coordination.
- Working knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and BIM workflows.
- Experience coordinating consultants, vendors, and contractors.
- Exceptional organization, communication, and presentation skills.
