About the Role

You’re more than a Frontend engineer; you’re a feature owner, UX champion, and a continuous learner who thrives on shipping impactful user experiences. You’ll contribute to our design system and component architecture, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the frontend is accessible, blazing fast, and optimized for scale.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical direction for our frontend stack.
• Lead the implementation and governance of our Design System and Component Library, ensuring modularity, consistency, and reusability across teams.
• Own and enforce Core Web Vitals.
• Optimize bundle sizes, build speeds, and asset delivery.
• Implement advanced rendering techniques like React Server Components (RSC) within Next.js.
• Architect solutions for efficient, localized state.
• Champion Local State and React Context as the primary tools, strictly minimizing external state libraries.
• Leverage lightweight solutions like Jotai for highly complex atomic state flows.
• Master the Apollo Client cache to handle API data fetching.
• Act as the internal customer for the frontend platform.
• Improve CI/CD pipeline efficiency.
• Enhance local development tooling.
• Ensure high-quality documentation.
• Lead by example through rigorous code reviews.
• Enforce TypeScript best practices.
• Mentor mid-level engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements

• 6+ years of frontend experience (4+ with React/TypeScript).
• Designed, owned, and shipped complex, multi-system features that define the technical direction for a product area.
• Proven ability to diagnose and dramatically improve application performance under high load (browser runtime, network profiling).
• Expert-level understanding of Vanilla JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and browser APIs.
• Can write robust code without a framework and understand how React works under the hood.
• Expert knowledge of GraphQL and Apollo Client.
• Prefer simple API contracts and know when to avoid unnecessary client-side complexity.
• Track record of collaborating effectively with Product and UX/UI to translate business goals into high-impact technical solutions.
• Based and have the right to work in Germany.
• Cannot sponsor visa for this position or support with relocation.
