About the Role
Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an experienced personal injury and general litigation defense Paralegal in our NYC Office. The individual will be responsible for supporting a team of attorneys with litigation tasks from inception through trial and close.
Responsibilities
- Manage client cases from inception through trial and closing.
- Perform daily time entry billing.
- Obtain, review, analyze, and summarize documents, including medical records, financial documents, and other relevant case information.
- Prepare for trial, including trial binders, exhibits, and witness files.
- Manage court docket calendar.
- Create status reports and provide updates to appropriate parties.
- Willingness to work on cases from start to finish and meet all court deadlines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation support.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organization.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines and prioritize workload.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc.
- Demonstrated interest in defense litigation.
- Ability to perform legal research; experience with Lexis is a plus.
- Familiarity with reviewing and obtaining medical records.
- Experience with time entry billing in a law firm setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule from our NYC office, ideally 4 days per week on-site.
