About the Role

Verve is building a Brand Direct function, a new team focused on selling and servicing select brand accounts directly. This is a founding hire for a senior individual contributor role, with the potential to grow into managing a local team as the function scales. The role involves defining the Brand Direct function's practical operations and working closely with the Global VP of Brand Partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Build senior brand relationships at CMO, Global Head of Media, and VP of Brand level, along with key line-of-business leads.
  • Get involved in brand planning cycles early to ensure Verve's data, formats, and capabilities are considered.
  • Represent Verve at brand-side forums, marketing conferences, and roundtables.
  • Commission insight work from data and insights teams to create brand-specific audience stories and category reports.
  • Secure Joint Business Plans to establish annual brand frameworks and investment.
  • Run pilot programs with a defined target list of named accounts, tracking revenue separately.
  • Partner with the existing agency sales team under a joint commercial framework, ensuring collaboration and double-counted revenue.

Requirements

  • Track record of building and owning senior client relationships directly with brands or marketers.
  • Genuine "hunter" instincts with comfort in prospecting and opening new doors.
  • Existing network of brand-side contacts in the UK (specific category experience is a plus).
  • Comfort with ambiguity and building process in a new role.
  • Strong commercial instincts with the ability to prioritize accounts based on growth potential.
  • Experience in media, adtech, data, or a related commercial sales environment is helpful.
  • Ability to build credibility quickly and turn initial meetings into revenue-generating relationships.
