About the Role
We are seeking a qualified individual to join our dynamic, forward-thinking team of Specialty Insurance professionals. The successful applicant will be responsible for underwriting and managing large insurance programs related to healthcare, which include Professional Liability/E&O, CGL, Office Package, and other ancillary lines of coverage.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating exposures and determining appropriate terms and conditions of coverage, on established Healthcare business
- Communicating and negotiating with our broker partners
- Managing referrals and underwriting new business
- Building insurance knowledge in a variety of professional liability wordings
- Ensuring that files are well documented and comply with internal requirements
- Develop and maintain working relationships with brokers
- Maintaining a highly collaborative work environment, both internally and externally
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of relevant industry trends and their impact on products offered
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in business, marketing, sales, or insurance preferred
- 3-5+ years of Healthcare Professional Liability underwriting experience
- Experience in Commercial General Liability, Property, Portfolio or Program Underwriting is an asset
- A high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail
- Capability to manage and meet deadlines
- Obtained or working toward CIP or RPLU Designation is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English are required
- Bilingual in French and English an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook)
