About the Role
Establish and own the Group’s forward-looking planning, modelling, business intelligence, and financial analysis capability. This role will transform existing FP&A activities into a scalable function, enhance business intelligence, and provide management with clearer performance visibility, forecasts, KPIs, and scenarios, allowing the CFO to focus on strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
- Own the Group forecasting process, including rolling forecasts, reforecasts and annual budgeting in partnership with the CFO and business leaders.
- Maintain clear assumptions, drivers and ownership across the forecasting model.
- Challenge forecast assumptions and provide evidence-based views on risks and opportunities.
- Develop scenario and sensitivity analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.
- Own the Group financial model and be responsible for its accuracy, structure, maintenance and development.
- Update and enhance the model as the business, product set, jurisdictions and commercial model evolve.
- Ensure the model is sufficiently robust, transparent and well documented for use by senior management.
- Build new analytical tools and supporting models where required for strategic projects, investments or new initiatives.
- Provide high-quality analysis of revenue, gross profit and other performance drivers, with clear commentary on movements and trends.
- Own recurring management information above gross profit, including analysis of pricing, margins, revenue mix and key commercial costs.
- Produce MD / senior management reporting, communications and tailored analysis for decision-making.
- Analyse introducing-broker economics, bank charges, commercial costs and other material financial drivers.
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities that require management attention and translate them into actionable recommendations.
- Own and develop the Group’s management information and business intelligence capability, ensuring key performance data is accessible, reliable and decision-useful.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting packs for senior management, including KPIs across revenue, client activity, margins, costs, cash generation and other key business drivers.
- Work with Finance, Technology and other data owners to improve the quality, consistency and accessibility of underlying data sources.
- Automate recurring reporting and analysis wherever practical, reducing reliance on manual spreadsheets and improving reporting timeliness.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the use of Power BI, AI and other analytical tools across the Finance function and wider business.
- Establish consistent definitions, data sources and reporting methodologies so that management information is aligned across the Group.
- Work with the Treasury & Regulatory Finance Manager to link profitability, working capital and cash generation.
- Help explain the bridge from revenue and gross profit through to free business cash and identify drivers of variance.
- Ensure forecast cash outcomes are consistent with the underlying operating model and business assumptions.
- Provide analysis supporting decisions on growth, investment, pricing, cost base and resource allocation.
- Act as a finance partner to senior stakeholders, helping them understand performance and make better decisions.
- Support the CFO on strategic projects, acquisitions, new products, international expansion and other major initiatives.
- Develop concise and decision-useful materials for senior management and Board discussions.
- Continuously improve the quality, timeliness and accessibility of financial insight across the Group.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent FP&A, commercial finance, or investment analysis experience.
- Strong experience in FP&A, commercial finance, strategy finance, investment analysis, or a comparable analytical finance role.
- Experience within financial services, fintech, payments, FX, or a high-growth multi-entity environment would be highly desirable.
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, scenario analysis, or strategic financial planning.
- Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and translating financial analysis into clear business insight.
- Experience working with finance, operational, and commercial data from multiple sources.
