About the Role

The Bishop Strachan School empowers talented girls to grow into fearless women, equipped with intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and compassion. We inspire students to discover their purpose, build confidence, and express themselves with a strong, independent voice.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with the other After Care Teachers to organize and plan the daily After Care Program
• Supports in planning activities for the students, which may include homework completion for older students
• Prepares materials for student activities that are engaging and educational
• Creates outdoor activities that include a balance of free play and structured games
• Supervises students on the playground and indoors in all weather conditions
• Liaises with other teachers and parents when required to ensure the needs of students are met
• Communicates with parents on a daily basis during pick-up time
• Administers and supervises daily snack with the students and adheres to health and safety protocols (e.g., student food allergies)
• Tracks attendance of students

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in ECE, CYW, Child Studies, Education or another related field
• Experience working with students 4 to 12 years of age in a school, camp or childcare setting
• Knowledge of effective programs, sports and games that enhance the learning of girls
• Current in First Aid/CPR preferred or willing to obtain
• Excellent verbal and written skills
