About the Role

Accurately assess assigned students' speech/language abilities, and formulate and implement appropriate I.E.P. goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain direct clinical contacts with assigned students, both individually and in groups.
  • Assure comprehensive and timely completion of speech/language evaluations as a member of the evaluation team.
  • Complete initial and update assessments, screenings, summary and progress reports, contact notes, and other necessary professional documentation accurately and timely.
  • Assure timely communication of essential information, including therapy recommendations/outcomes, with appropriate staff and professionals.
  • Ensure speech/language development is incorporated into the education program by educating and advising staff.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, evaluation, and revision of program policies and practices.
  • Provide speech therapy to children at Therapeutic Preschool/Day School sites and/or related service sessions in the community.
  • Represent the program through assigned committee work and presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and be an enthusiastic team player.
  • Ability to physically restrain youth after successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, families, and community contacts.
