About the Role
Academic Support Assistants (ASA) provide valuable academic and administrative support to professors and students. ASAs offer a personalized experience in lecture settings by supporting teaching lectures, leading small group discussions, and fostering engagement through online discussion boards. This role offers hands-on teaching experience through close collaboration with professors.
Responsibilities
- Assist faculty with tasks such as attendance, lectures, and breakout sessions.
- Observe professor lectures and participate in Westcliff University professional development workshops.
- Ensure proper setup and cleaning of labs, enforcing rules for a safe and educational environment.
- Proctor examinations.
- Support grading within the university LMS (GAP).
- Collaborate with assigned faculty on all aspects of assigned courses.
Requirements
- Completed bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or Education preferred.
- Pursuing a master's or doctorate degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or Education preferred.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 in all coursework.
- Provide a recommendation/reference letter.
- ASA course responsibilities begin at the start of academic sessions and continue until final grades are submitted.
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with the instructor throughout the course.
- Perform routine responsibilities both in and out of the classroom.
- Attend all onsite class meetings at the San Francisco, CA campus.
Skills

- Comfortable in the subject area of assigned courses (Business, Technology & Engineering, and Education).
