About the Role

The Settlement Home for Children seeks an Awake Night Staff to ensure the safety of its campus and residents. This role supports the daily implementation of individualized care plans by maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment that promotes skill development and long-term stability. You will serve as a consistent, professional presence for youth, helping them meet treatment goals and navigate life in a group home setting.

Responsibilities

Supervise conduct of youth, ensuring adherence to schedule and rules, and maintaining group supervision.
Ensure residents adhere to bedtime and wake-up schedules.
Implement and execute cottage rules, schedules, and routines, and maintain awareness of each resident's whereabouts.
Maintain cleanliness of the cottage and individual resident spaces.
Document cottage life, incidents, daily behavior, medical needs, and treatment observations in appropriate charts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and TB test.
Must have a criminal background clear of any offenses that would preclude employment in a licensed child care operation, as outlined by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Have a valid driver's license with less than 2 moving violations and/or 1 accident within the past 3 years.
Must have and maintain current auto liability insurance.

Skills

Practices organization’s Culture of Communication
Knowledge of applicable Licensing, Contract, and Program standards
Physical ability to complete Emergency Behavioral Intervention training
Ability to effectively use organization’s computer systems
Ability to implement trauma-informed therapeutic approaches including TBRI® principles.
