About the Role
The Senior Claims Specialist acts as a liaison and claims advocate between internal and external clients and adjusters, ensuring optimal claims handling and superior claims service. This role reports to the SVP, Claims.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to HUB clients on all claims-related matters throughout the entire claims process and advocate for satisfactory claims resolution.
- Provide guidance to internal teams on the claims process, building knowledge and capability through reporting for large clients, generating loss run reports, and advising on general claims questions.
- Offer support pre-loss, during a loss, and post-loss by providing claims counseling and engaging experts as necessary.
- Analyze claim trends to ensure alignment with loss control procedures.
- Analyze and interpret policy wording.
- Work closely with the Commercial and Personal Lines Practices.
- Provide status updates to Client and Account Teams, offering appropriate consulting and guidance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic claims files through Epic.
Requirements
- 7 years in a claims role with a broker, insurance carrier, or independent adjuster.
- RIBO License Required.
- Claims experience is an asset.
- Strong customer service orientation (internal and external).
- Self-starter with strong initiative.
- Computer Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and ability to manage requirements effectively.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with clients up to the C-Level/President.
