About the Role
The Product Manager – RCM (Pharmacy) is responsible for bringing pharmacy expertise directly into product strategy, roadmap decisions, and product execution. This role ensures pharmacy workflows, reimbursement processes, customer needs, and industry requirements are translated into scalable product capabilities that support the future direction of RCM. The Product Manager serves as the voice of the pharmacy customer, combining first-hand pharmacy experience with product management discipline to drive product decisions grounded in how pharmacies actually operate. This role works closely with Product Leadership, Engineering, Client Experience, Operations, and Sales to deliver solutions that improve customer outcomes while supporting long-term platform evolution.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary pharmacy subject matter expert within Product
- Bring first-hand understanding of pharmacy workflows, reimbursement processes, and operational realities into product decisions
- Translate pharmacy operational needs into product capabilities and requirements
- Ensure product decisions align with real-world pharmacy workflows and customer expectations
- Provide pharmacy domain expertise to Product, Engineering, Client Experience, and Sales teams
- Conduct customer discovery, Voice of Customer (VOC), and workflow validation activities
- Identify customer pain points, unmet needs, and emerging market opportunities
- Monitor pharmacy industry trends, payer requirements, reimbursement changes, and evolving customer expectations
- Validate product concepts and roadmap priorities with customers and stakeholders
- Represent the voice of the pharmacy customer throughout the product lifecycle
- Own and maintain pharmacy-focused product roadmap priorities
- Develop product requirements and acceptance criteria
- Balance customer needs, business objectives, and technical considerations when prioritizing work
- Partner with Engineering to deliver product capabilities that support both current and future business needs
- Support long-term platform strategy while addressing immediate customer requirements
- Independently manage product initiatives through the full product lifecycle from concept through launch
- Maintain and prioritize product backlogs
- Identify risks, dependencies, and implementation challenges early
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and coordinate activities across teams
- Ensure delivered capabilities meet customer, operational, and business objectives
- Monitor pharmacy industry trends, payer requirements, reimbursement changes, and evolving customer needs
- Evaluate impacts of industry changes on pharmacy workflows and customer operations
- Serve as the primary product lead for understanding and defining product responses to pharmacy industry changes
- Partner with customers, pharmacy stakeholders, and industry groups to validate requirements and priorities
- Translate industry changes into product strategy, roadmap priorities, and customer-facing capabilities
- Build strong partnerships across Engineering, Client Experience, Operations, Sales, and Product Leadership
- Communicate priorities, tradeoffs, and roadmap decisions effectively
- Drive alignment across teams impacted by product initiatives
- Support successful adoption and rollout of new capabilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Technology, Pharmacy, or related field
- 3–5+ years of Product Management experience with ownership of roadmap, prioritization, and delivery
- Pharmacy background or direct pharmacy operational experience
- Experience working with reimbursement processes and pharmacy workflows
- Experience partnering with Engineering and cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Pharmacy Technician certification, PharmD, or equivalent pharmacy operational experience
- Experience with pharmacy reimbursement and payment workflows
- Experience with healthcare transaction standards such as NCPDP and EDI 835
- Experience in Revenue Cycle Management or healthcare financial workflows
- Experience operating in complex and rapidly evolving product environments
- Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
