About the Role
The Event Supervisor assists in managing, preparing, and setting up event spaces across Toronto and the GTA, and aids in event execution. This role involves overseeing the floor during events, delivering food and beverage, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring client satisfaction. The position is a leadership-in-training role, offering opportunities to learn event management while also working serving/bartender shifts.
Responsibilities
- Communicates the vision to all team members and leads by example.
- Reinforces the O&B values daily and inspires the team.
- Supports the management team in overall event management.
- Leads a team of servers and bartenders during an event, responding to all concerns and needs.
- Builds and maintains relationships with guests, team members, and senior management.
- Demonstrates leadership in creating a culture that revolves around experience and enjoyment.
- Uses conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Assists in the preparation, setup, and maintenance of event spaces.
- Possesses a strong knowledge of event menu items.
- Follows bar, beverage, and wine control procedures exactly.
- Responds promptly to guest requests in a timely, professional, and efficient manner.
- Delivers food & beverage to the appropriate tables.
- Clears plates, cutlery, and glasses from tables and returns them to the dish area.
- Monitors food quality and presentation standards.
- Regularly monitors and achieves the O&B points of technical service and points of details.
- Adheres to all O&B health and safety standards.
- Performs additional duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Valid Smart Serve certification required.
- Proven experience in event service or hospitality.
- Minimum 1 year supervisor experience in events or hospitality.
- Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- A passion for guest service and creating memorable moments.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Ability to remain composed under pressure and adapt to fast-paced environments.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift 30lbs.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
