About the Role

Lulu Bar is seeking experienced servers to join their team on a full-time contract. Servers are responsible for providing exceptional upscale customer service, explaining the menu, ensuring a smooth service, processing transactions, and maintaining restaurant cleanliness. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy a fast-paced professional environment, are flexible, and wish to gain service experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a prompt and welcoming manner.
• Inform guests of all specials and menu changes.
• Make quality recommendations to guests.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of all food and beverage items.
• Accommodate all dietary requests and allergies.
• Take food and beverage orders from guests and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
• Ensure accurate orders are relayed to the kitchen and bar.
• Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
• Perform side duties such as polishing cutlery, glassware, and plate ware.
• Maintain cleanliness of all service areas.
• Quality check tables to ensure guest satisfaction with food and service.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests.
• Involve a manager to resolve guest conflicts or situations.
• Prepare final bills, present checks to guests, and process payments.
• Assist fellow servers as situations arise.
• Assist serving assistants by clearing and resetting tables.
• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
• Provide support as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant.
• Complete cash out at the end of the shift.
• Execute any other tasks required.

Requirements

• 1-2 years’ experience serving, or bartending in a full-service restaurant required.
• Strong English communication skills with the ability to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and customers.
• Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
• Basic math skills, ability to handle money, and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Valid Ontario Smart Serve certification is required.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Must be over 18 as alcohol service and open scheduling availability is a requirement.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
