About the Role

Academic Support Assistants (ASA) provide valuable academic and administrative support to professors and students. They offer a personalized experience in lecture settings by assisting with teaching, leading discussions, and fostering engagement through online forums. ASAs also gain practical teaching experience by working closely with faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty with tasks such as attendance, lectures, and breakout sessions.
  • Observe professor lectures and participate in university professional development workshops.
  • Ensure proper setup and cleaning of labs, enforcing rules for a safe educational environment.
  • Proctor examinations.
  • Support grading within the university's Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Collaborate with assigned faculty on all aspects of assigned courses.

Requirements

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or Education preferred.
  • Pursuing a master's or doctorate degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or Education preferred.
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher in all coursework.
  • Provide a recommendation/reference letter.
  • ASA course responsibilities begin at the start of academic sessions and continue until final grades are submitted.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with the instructor throughout the course.
  • Perform routine responsibilities both in and out of the classroom.
  • Attend all onsite class meetings at the San Francisco, CA campus.
