About the Role

Hanover Bank is seeking a full-time Lending Officer responsible for retaining and developing loan relationships within the brokerage sector, managing third-party loan referrals, and serving as a liaison between mortgage brokers and operations staff to ensure excellent customer service and a seamless process.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent response times and customer service levels with the network of broker contacts.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of all loan products, policies, procedures, and underwriting requirements.
  • Monitor customer loyalty and disloyalty performance, ensuring timely communication, regular broker contact, site visits, and remediation support.
  • Understand the residential loan process for processing, underwriting, closing, and funding of 1 to 4 family residential loans.
  • Develop and maintain a high degree of visibility and credibility for Hanover in the marketplace.
  • Actively communicate new products and promote existing products with the brokerage base.
  • Create special marketing campaigns promoting the product menu in conjunction with the Director of Sales.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Wholesale lending experience of 3 years.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all State and Federal regulations applicable to residential mortgage lending, including Regulation B (ECOA), C (HMDA), G (S.A.F.E) Act, X (RESPA), and Z.
  • Proficiency in using interpersonal and communication skills to interact with the public and represent the Bank at community development functions.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships, market trends, and developments in the Bank’s market area.
  • Availability to customarily and regularly engage away from the Bank's facilities for sales calls, obtaining applications, and meeting with potential borrowers.
  • Proficient in sales and service skills, including prospecting, networking, and relationship management.
  • Strong financial acumen and goal-oriented skills.
  • This position is subject to Dodd Frank Truth in Lending Act qualification requirements for Loan Originators and requires successful National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the S.A.F.E. Act.
