About the Role
Operate and optimize paper cup manufacturing equipment, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for someone mechanically inclined who enjoys troubleshooting equipment and takes pride in keeping production running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor a cell of PMC machines safely and efficiently
- Review daily production schedules and ensure production targets are achieved
- Complete production documentation, including cycle time reports, production records, scrap tickets, and packaging reports
- Monitor cycle rates and machine productivity to support production schedules
- Maintain product quality through ongoing machine adjustments, including temperature, pressure, trim, roll, and speed settings
- Inspect products and processes to ensure quality standards are met
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and coordinate repair support when required
- Ensure accessory equipment remains supplied with product to maintain continuous production
- Monitor packaging materials and production supplies to support uninterrupted operations
- Provide guidance to Lift Truck Operators regarding material movement requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through regular housekeeping activities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned
- Follow all safety policies, GMP requirements, quality standards, and work procedures
Requirements
- Strong commitment to safety, attendance, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to successfully complete a mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude assessment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, climbing, standing, and working in varying temperature conditions
- Union membership is mandatory upon successful completion of the probationary period
