About the Role
We are hiring our lead product designer to own design across the product, from early ideas through customer-facing details. You will establish design practices, systems, and standards, and make experiences feel coherent across different tools. This role is for a hands-on designer who can introduce structure to help the team improve, working independently in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead product design from early exploration through final implementation
- Improve the usability and visual quality of our existing product
- Design experiences across the GetWhys platform and integrated tools
- Build a practical design system to improve speed and consistency
- Collaborate with product and engineering to define product direction
- Provide clear feedback and explain reasoning to raise quality standards
- Partner with product to answer engineering questions
- Shape our approach to UX and UI
- Lay the foundation for a future design team while remaining hands-on
Requirements
- Approximately 5 or more years of product design experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing thoughtful end-to-end product work and excellent visual craft
- Experience designing complex software, workflows, or systems
- Comfort with making imperfect decisions early or on time
- Experience with AI tools, both within and outside the design process
- Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear, useful experiences
- Demonstrated strong judgment and confidence to advocate for your point of view
- Collaborative working style with the ability to push back, explain reasoning, and change your mind
- Experience building or contributing to design systems
- Comfort working independently in a fast-moving environment
- Experience as an early designer at a startup is a plus

- $190,000–$210,000 base salary
