About the Role

Brainrider is seeking a detail-obsessed Senior Performance Marketing Specialist to lead the strategy, quality, and performance of paid acquisition efforts across digital channels. This execution-heavy role requires scrutinizing campaign setups, identifying errors, and ensuring agency partners meet high standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for agency partners managing paid search, video, social, and programmatic campaigns.
  • Own rigorous QA of all agency output, including campaign builds, keyword lists, bid strategies, audience targeting, ad copy, tracking/tagging, and budget pacing.
  • Review creative assets against platform specs and safe zones before launch.
  • Enforce strict naming conventions across campaigns, ad groups, creatives, and UTMs.
  • Maintain a "tight ship" operating cadence with clean campaign taxonomy, consistent naming, organized folders, and current documentation.
  • Own the paid search strategy across Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Performance Max), Microsoft Ads, and other SEM platforms.
  • Own paid social strategy across Meta, Reddit, X, TikTok, and more.
  • Drive the experimentation roadmap, defining tests and ensuring learnings are documented and actioned.
  • Manage and optimize significant monthly budgets with a focus on efficiency metrics while maintaining aggressive growth targets.
  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards and performance frameworks.
  • Deliver proactive status updates, performance insights, and risk flags to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Translate complex campaign data into clear, actionable narratives for leadership, product marketing, and growth partners.
  • Oversee agency execution of programmatic campaigns across DSPs.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage direct media buys across newsletters, industry publications, trade journals, and niche/specialty developer-focused sites.
  • Identify and test emerging channels, evaluating ROI potential of new placements, sponsorships, and partnership opportunities.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of performance marketing experience with deep expertise in SEM/paid search (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, SA360).
  • Agency background strongly preferred, with experience managing multiple accounts/clients simultaneously.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage and QA agency partners.
  • Track record managing substantial paid media budgets ($+/month) with clear performance outcomes and efficient spend allocation.
  • Proactive communicator, defaulting to over-communicating and surfacing issues early.
  • Strong analytical skills (Google Analytics, Looker, Tableau, or similar).
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate testing methodologies across creative, landing pages, audiences, and bidding strategies.
  • Experience marketing to developer or technical audiences is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of MMPs and mobile attribution (Singular, AppsFlyer, Adjust) for app-based campaigns is a bonus.
