About the Role

This role ensures Menzies Aviation delivers safe, consistent, and quality ground handling services and contributes to the overall success of operations. The Director is responsible for compliance with all regulatory, airport, customer, and internal standards, while delivering high-quality services to domestic and international airlines. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage a business in a challenging environment, maintain strict safety standards, adhere to corporate governance, and meet financial targets.

Responsibilities

  • Fully responsible for all aspects of the JFK Ramp operations, including Passenger Service, Aircraft Cleaning & Ramp Handling.
  • Fully accountable for meeting customer operational needs and exceeding station goals and revenue targets.
  • Fully accountable for compliance with Corporate Governance, legal, and quality aspects of Menzies’ businesses in JFK.
  • Lead and work with the senior team to maintain and enhance safety & security systems, risk assessments, inspections & audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service delivery.
  • Regularly interact with customers to promote the station and measure customer satisfaction, using feedback to improve capabilities and processes.
  • Responsible for maximizing station performance by strategically aligning resources.
  • Implement company policies and procedures, promoting sound safety, security, and people management practices.
  • Promote and drive a ‘safety first’ culture throughout the organization.
  • Ensure the business unit remains compliant with internal standards and all relevant industry, regulatory, and state legislated requirements.
  • Lead and motivate teams to deliver excellent quality and productivity.
  • Direct and motivate Managers to achieve agreed targets and identify areas for development.
  • Uphold the responsibility and duty for the health, safety, and wellbeing of oneself and others.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience in business development, sales, and commercial negotiation & pricing.
  • Wide ranging general management experience, with some years of senior management experience.
  • Extensive management and/or support service experience, preferably in a ground handling, Aircraft Cleaning, Ramp Services, aviation, or logistics environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to influence and present at all levels.
  • Interpersonal skills: Independence, decisiveness, ability to work accurately and independently.
  • Ability to influence, engage, and motivate at all levels.
  • Flexible, determined to succeed, and self-motivated.
  • Must hold requisite employment authority to work in the USA.
  • Must pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal.
  • Must pass all pre-employment testing, drug screen, and background checks.
