About the Role
Analyze risks in the insurance business using mathematical models and machine learning, providing a basis for strategic decisions within the German insurance and financial industry.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex risks in the insurance business and make them manageable with clients in various projects.
- Develop and extend deterministic and stochastic forecasts using algorithms for data analysis, machine learning, and data analytics.
- Solve complex actuarial problems across the entire actuarial value chain.
- Assist in the further development of existing modeling approaches in risk management, reserving, pricing, and underwriting.
- Support audits, M&A processes, transformation projects, restructurings, and new company foundations in the financial services sector.
- Actively shape strategic initiatives and focus topics, representing the company in the market.
Requirements
- Degree in (Business) Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable natural science/technical field, preferably with a doctorate and internships in the financial sector.
- Proficiency in MS Office and interest in programming (e.g., R, SQL, Python, SAS, or C#), potentially with initial practical experience in data analysis, data visualization, or machine learning.
- Enjoyment of project work with various clients in the financial sector.
- High degree of independence, commitment, communication skills, and solution orientation.
- Interest in a steep learning curve through challenging tasks in client projects.
- Willingness to travel.
- Very good written and spoken German and English.
