About the Role

The Clinical RN Supervisor manages and leads care delivery, ensuring safe, effective, and quality people-centered care for their assigned team in compliance with VON policies. This role collaborates with the management team to achieve strategic priorities and clinical best practices, supporting the development of clinical skills for holistic nursing services.

Responsibilities

• Supervises team work, client care services, and people-centered care according to regulatory guidelines and VON policies.
• Oversees staff in conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, and reporting client or employee issues.
• Monitors staffing levels and skill sets to meet professional and contract requirements.
• Supports staff development by evaluating educational plans and meeting with staff to ensure understanding and compliance.
• Monitors staff performance and provides feedback, including conducting performance reviews.
• Leads retention strategies through coaching, mentoring, and problem resolution.
• Ensures staff performance aligns with best practices and engages the team in continuous improvement activities.
• Disseminates clinical information to ensure staff compliance with legislation and policies.
• Contributes to committees supporting safety, financial, quality, risk, and accreditation performance.
• Receives and resolves client and employee complaints related to service delivery.
• Collaborates with teams to assign staff based on geography and skills, prioritizing client needs.
• Provides direct support to the team for prioritizing and triaging client services.
• Documents service delivery challenges, gathers staff input, and develops resolution plans with management.
• Acts as a clinical resource, providing advice and support to service provider staff.
• Promotes excellent clinical practice aligned with VON strategic priorities.
• Monitors data sources to ensure accurate documentation and reporting from admission to discharge.
• Participates in the on-call rotation to support community care services.
• Promotes VON's goals and values as an integrated community care provider.
• Ensures a safe and healthy workplace in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and VON's Safety Management System.
• Adheres to all VON policies, work practices, and confidentiality regulations.

Requirements

• Must have a personal vehicle.
• Must possess a current driver's license.
• Must provide proof of vehicle insurance.
• Willingness to travel regularly during the day and periodically overnight.
• A current and original satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required upon employment.
• A Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may be required.
• The use of Personal Protective Equipment may be required.
• Requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment.
• Requires physical activity including lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, kneeling, walking, sitting, standing, and climbing stairs.
• Requires fine hand movements for some tasks.

• Current registration with provincial nursing regulatory body
