About the Role
Oneida Innovations Group is seeking an IT Systems Engineering Manager to join their growing IT and Innovation team. This role is crucial for maintaining the stability, availability, and reliability of the organization's critical systems, including the primary revenue-generating gaming system.
Responsibilities
- Plans, schedules, and assigns work to Systems Engineers, monitoring team function and ensuring staff training.
- Reviews, plans, and evaluates operating system administration, providing support and performing proactive monitoring for upgrades.
- Installs and configures servers and operating systems, adhering to the development life cycle and Change Management practices.
- Ensures Systems Engineering resources address emergency and high problem events, providing timely status updates.
- Promotes and documents work performed, project tracking, and management reporting, reviewing documentation for accuracy.
- Coordinates ongoing maintenance of servers and operating systems.
- Builds teamwork relationships with networking and engineering teams for system changes, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Partners with the Applications Group to align systems strategies with the IT mission.
- Maintains and administers the Casino's primary revenue-generating gaming system, including daily monitoring of the Unix Server.
- Provides 24/7 on-call support, troubleshooting issues, determining action plans, and escalating as needed.
- Makes judgment calls on necessary resources for issue resolution and determines when on-site presence is required.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science or other related technical field and/or minimum equivalent experience of six or more years working in an IT environment.
- One year of leadership experience in an IT environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud services (Azure) is a definite plus.
- Highly experienced in managing a multi-server distributed environment or distributed network.
- Experience with VMWare, Nutanix, and other Hypervisor tools.
- Experience with Windows 200x, AS/400, AIX, Linux, and UNIX operating systems.
- Understanding of Active Directory, VMware, IBM SAN/disk technologies, and networking is a must.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and writing skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure.
- Demonstrated experience working with gaming and/or hospitality systems.
- Experienced in managing technical resources.
