About the Role
The Business Development Specialist (BDS) is responsible for assisting in planning, developing, and implementing agency marketing programs, including community education, non-remunerative solicitation of patients, and advertising. The BDS reports to the Regional Director of Business Development.
Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, and implements marketing plan upon approval.
- Plans and conducts community awareness activities to inform healthcare professionals and patients about agency programs.
- Conducts efforts to obtain new referrals from physicians and hospital discharge planners.
- Prepares community relation activity reports.
- Performs pre-discharge hospital assessments and coordinates treatment plans.
- Designs agency information and marketing literature.
- Coordinates media exposure, including public service announcements and advertisements.
- Assists in the promotion of disease management programs.
- Attends community business functions for agency exposure.
- Sets and meets job-related goals.
- Identifies self-learning needs and utilizes educational programs.
- Contributes to team efforts to improve service quality.
- Assists with health plan contracting activities.
- Speaks effectively before groups.
- Complies with agency policies on attendance and punctuality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least one (1) year of marketing or administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of home health care services and managed care plans.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent speaking and writing ability.
