Responsibilities
- Perform routine checks weekly, monthly, and annually on systems in the home and ensure external checks are carried out within the agreed timeframe (e.g., LOLER testing).
- Monitor and respond to fire alarm calls, boilers, and lifts.
- Make effective and efficient use of resources in any maintenance or repair.
- Conduct banking and purchase small items for the home.
- Maintain the building, grounds, and equipment to ensure the safety of residents, staff, and visitors, including decoration, repair, minor plumbing, and garden maintenance.
- Maintain good communication and relationships with other teams and colleagues.
- Maintain awareness of the Home’s policies and procedures, especially the Fire Policy.
- Participate in training and development as an individual and as part of the team.
- Get involved in the induction of new staff by training them on building layout and fire policies and procedures.
- Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
- Control and order stock, and accept and check deliveries.
- Maintain an awareness of Health and Safety requirements.
- Observe and maintain high levels of communication within staff teams, with individual colleagues, and residents.
- Carry out any additional duties as requested.
- Undertake any additional training and development programs the Home may consider appropriate.
- Review the job description regularly and agree on any changes.
