About the Role
This role is ideal for a newly ACA-qualified finance professional looking to make their first move from a medium-sized accountancy practice into industry. Reporting to the Business Finance Officer, you will take on a broad, hands-on Finance Manager role in a growing business at the heart of the UK energy transition. It would suit someone who has gained useful exposure in practice to areas such as reporting, audit, controls and financial analysis, and is ready to build on that experience in a commercial setting. The role is broad and varied, working across TI, our joint ventures and projects, with exposure to areas including VAT, cashflow forecasting, treasury and liquidity reporting, project reporting, reforecasting and budgeting. Our hybrid approach supports work-life balance while creating opportunities for colleagues to collaborate and learn together. For most roles, this means working from our London office two days per week.
Responsibilities
- Preparing VAT returns and supporting statutory and external reporting.
- Preparing cashflow forecasts, treasury and liquidity reporting.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and posting depreciation entries.
- Producing management, project and cost reporting, including variance analysis.
- Supporting quarterly reforecasting and annual budget preparation.
- Reporting purchase order commitments and timesheet information once implemented.
- Working with colleagues across the business to provide clear, practical financial information.
Requirements
- ACA qualified.
- Experience gained in a medium-sized accountancy practice.
- Likely to be looking for a first move into industry after training in practice.
Skills
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident building relationships across the business.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with Xledger or a similar finance system would be an advantage.
