About the Role

Canada Rocket Company is building sovereign launch capability for Canada. As the first Strategy & Operations Co-op, you will work directly with the Chief Financial Officer across finance, strategy, technology, and business operations to accelerate engineering team progress. This is a hands-on role where you will build new processes and tools that will be actively used.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of the enterprise financial model.
  • Run the financial planning and analysis cycle, including budget versus actual analysis and forecast updates.
  • Support capital planning and project controls for facility, test, and long-lead hardware programs.
  • Size the addressable market and build capture and revenue models.
  • Support proposals, grant submissions, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Build build-versus-buy analyses and product lifecycle techno-economic models.
  • Help deploy AI-native business processes to enhance employee effectiveness.
  • Design and build agentic workflows that connect systems and data, and scale successful processes.
  • Run program and project management for commercial initiatives.
  • Establish business rhythms to maintain momentum for commercial initiatives.
  • Build procurement processes to ensure supply chain resilience.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a co-op or internship program at the undergraduate level or above, in business, commerce, economics, business technology management, or engineering.
  • At least one prior completed internship or co-op work term.
  • Fluency with economic and financial modeling principles, with the ability to apply them quickly in Excel and/or AI-assisted, structured code-based models (e.g., Python).
  • Systems thinking ability to understand cross-organizational connections between processes, data, and decisions.
  • Working understanding of data structures, database architectures, and how business systems store, relate, and exchange information.
  • Fluent with AI tools and able to apply them to redesign work processes.
  • Rigour and accuracy in work with financial, contractual, and external consequences.
  • Ability to work independently where established processes do not yet exist.
  • Eligible for, obtain, and maintain a security assessment required under Canada's Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
