About the Role
The hotel housekeeper is responsible for cleaning hotel guest rooms to a high standard, promoting a positive image of the property, and ensuring guest privacy and security. This role requires a pleasant and upbeat personality, comfort in responding to guest needs, and meticulous attention to detail in room cleanliness and maintenance reporting.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests with a smile.
- Clean, organize, and restock guest rooms.
- Ensure guest rooms are stocked with hygiene products, stationery, clean drinkware, and mini-bar refreshments.
- Change linens, including mattress under-pads, fitted sheets, blankets, and pillowcases, and dispose of dirty linens for cleaning.
- Dust and vacuum furniture, lamps, and all areas of the room daily.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, ensuring they are sanitary and free of mold and bacteria.
- Refill toilet paper, soap, shampoo, and replace towels.
- Remove garbage, replace liners in receptacles, and clean cups and stationery.
- Check smoke detectors and remote control batteries.
- Identify and report any broken or non-functional items in the room to maintenance or supervisor.
- Adhere to Akwesasne Mohawk Casino safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to push cleaning cart and operate vacuums.
- Must be able to push or lift approximately 50 lbs of furniture, equipment, trash, and linens.
- Regularly exposed to toxic chemicals and airborne particles.
- Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming work permit.
- Requires a criminal background check.
- Must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment confirmation.
