About the Role

This is an opportunity for a technically minded Software Engineer to join NatWest Boxed. You'll be working with new and innovative technology to deliver high impact solutions and advance your career in this critical role.

Responsibilities

Build and develop the NatWest Boxed technology product within a core cross-functional mission team.
Develop clean, elegant, and reusable code that is well-tested and easy to maintain and extend.
Work with stakeholders to drive the direction of NW Boxed engineering and prioritize customer interests.
Collaborate across the backend chapter to uphold standards, best practices, and promote innovation.
Resolve technical issues collaboratively with the team.
Support and oversee junior engineers and act as a subject matter expert.

Requirements

Strong background in software engineering, software design, or database design and architecture.
Solid practical and theoretical knowledge of Java software development.
Strong experience with Spring Boot / Micronaut.
Understanding of Kubernetes / Docker.
Excellent understanding of AWS deployment and configuration.
Experience working with message-driven architectures / Kafka / event sourcing.
Experience working on a highly secure application.
Understanding of how to translate business objectives into data-driven insight.
