About the Role
Take end-to-end ownership of people operations in a modern, fast-growing, fully remote law firm. You will run day-to-day people operations and build them into scalable systems as the company grows. You'll be a trusted support for managers and handle sensitive one-to-one conversations with care, helping Juno stay one of the best places to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Own new-starter onboarding flows end to end, including issuing contracts, running pre-employment checks, and ensuring onboarding task checklists enable a great onboarding experience.
- Serve as the first point of contact for managers, resolving issues directly or escalating with recommendations.
- Administer absence and leave.
- Conduct sensitive one-to-one employee conversations confidently and empathetically, determining when to handle issues directly and when to involve others.
- Manage the HR system (Zelt), configuring workflows and maintaining onboarding and offboarding flows.
- Draft and track routine employee paperwork, such as changes to salary, hours, or role.
- Build templates, workflows, and prompts using AI tools (including Claude) to make processes repeatable.
- Identify automation opportunities.
- Support managers through light-touch training.
- Transform existing data into useful insights for leadership.
- Work closely with the General Counsel, who will also be your line manager.
Requirements
- Proactively take ownership of problems from start to finish.
- Conduct sensitive conversations with empathy and provide honest, direct feedback.
- Exercise sound judgment on sensitive and confidential issues, knowing what to handle directly and when to escalate, with a good sense of risk.
- Add process only when volume justifies it, keeping systems simple at small scale and systematized as things grow.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools (like Claude, ChatGPT) to build and improve operational processes, turning repetitive manual work into reliable, auditable, and repeatable semi-automated or automated workflows.
- Ideally possess a basic understanding of employment law, experience in a people team, or recent experience in a high-growth environment (though not essential).
- Enjoy the day-to-day operational aspects of a role and want to shape how a people function is built from the ground up.
- Apply through Recruitee with a compelling cover letter and recent CV/résumé.
