About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Financial Controller with monthly closing, reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring complete, accurate and timely financial information and meaningful analysis for hotel management.
  • Ensures proper, complete and timely accounting in accordance with HGB, local statutory requirements, RHG policies and internal guidelines, covering general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Reviews and releases accounting transactions, monitors open items, provisions, accruals and balance sheet positions, and ensures audit-proof documentation of all relevant finance processes.
  • Coordinates finance processes with the Shared Service Centre and external partners, including monitoring of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and cash books, account reconciliations, reporting and purchasing related workflows.
  • Supports the review of monthly operating results, variance analysis, management reporting and ad-hoc analysis, assisting the Financial Controller and General Manager in interpreting business performance and defining follow-up actions.
  • Monitors cash management, bank accounts, deposits, prepayments, City Ledger, credit limits and collection activities to support liquidity management and an efficient accounts receivable process.
  • Assists with the implementation and compliance of RHG policies, SOPs, internal controls, endorsed systems and reporting deadlines, ensuring the integrity and accurate presentation of financial results and operational KPIs.
  • Prepares and supports internal and external audits, liaises with auditors, tax advisors and authorities, and helps ensure compliance with tax, commercial and regulatory requirements.
  • Supports procurement and cost control activities, including review of key cost positions, investment requests, CAPEX measures, FF&E plan maintenance, correct capitalisation, depreciation and inventory controls.
  • Provides functional leadership, guidance and development to the Finance & Accounting team, promotes a service-oriented and high-performing team culture, and performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the needs of the hotel.

Requirements

  • Proven professional experience in finance and accounting, preferably in the hotel industry
  • Solid knowledge of HGB, month-end and year-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations and internal controls
  • Good knowledge of tax, VAT and statutory accounting requirements; USALI knowledge is desirable
  • Experience with ERP and hotel systems such as Opera, Business Central or SAP is an advantage
  • Good leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style
  • Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and a structured, solution-oriented way of working
  • Personal integrity and confidentiality, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office software, especially MS Excel, and confident in using IT systems on various platforms
  • Open and positive personality with strong communication skills towards management, auditors and external business partners
  • Ability to handle challenging priorities and assignments in a dynamic environment
