About the Role
Own data science work across Qogita's business, including forecasting, classification, experimentation, and recommendation systems. Act as the team's expert on pricing, buyer response, and market structure's impact on commercial decisions. The Data Science team collaborates with Product, Finance, and Commercial teams to build the analytical and modeling layer driving Qogita's wholesale marketplace.
Responsibilities
- Build and deliver data science solutions including predictive models, segmentation, forecasting, ranking systems, and pricing models.
- Act as the team's domain expert on pricing and market economics, owning the modeling approach, analytical strategy, and translation of findings into commercial recommendations.
- Research, build, deploy, and maintain predictive and analytical models reflecting B2B buyer behavior and wholesale market dynamics.
- Design and analyze experiments and A/B tests, ensuring statistical validity and translating results into actionable recommendations.
- Apply quantitative methods such as regression modeling, causal inference, and ML techniques to business problems.
- Collaborate with Engineers to deploy models using MLOps workflows, including experiment tracking, model serving, and production monitoring.
- Communicate findings and model limitations clearly to stakeholders in Finance, Commercial, and Product.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a data scientist or quantitative analyst.
- Meaningful exposure to ML methods and statistical modeling with a focus on microeconomics, econometrics, or finance.
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, statsmodels, scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch) and SQL.
- Experience working with large transactional datasets.
- Understanding of pricing and market economics, including price theory, consumer behavior, substitution effects, and market structure's impact on pricing power.
- Familiarity with econometric techniques for demand estimation, forecasting, and measuring causal effects.
- Experience designing and analyzing experiments with significant business implications.
- Ability to communicate findings and model limitations clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
