About the Role
Guidewire ローカライゼーション ビジネスアナリスト is a position that defines detailed business requirements that can be directly utilized in development to adapt Guidewire products to the needs of the Japanese market. As a Business Analyst, you will lead the entire process from creating business scenarios and defining acceptance criteria to verifying that implemented functions meet the original business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Define detailed, developable business requirements reflecting specific changes needed for Guidewire products, focusing on requirements tied to actual product functions rather than conceptual business intentions.
- Create user stories with clear acceptance criteria based on business requirements, ensuring they contain specific, actionable information for developers.
- Define data requirements, workflow requirements, and system integration requirements for each feature.
- Document business rules, process flows, configuration requirements, data mappings, type list values, and business scenarios at a level required by the development team.
- Lead or support requirement gathering sessions with customers and stakeholders.
- Conduct business-level validation of completed user stories and UX designs to confirm they meet original business objectives before acceptance.
- Perform business-level User Acceptance Testing (UAT), assisting in identifying and resolving defects.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure requirements are testable and test cases reflect actual business scenarios.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and contribute to the creation of customer-facing documentation.
- Actively leverage the expert network within the partner company to validate requirements, without relying on escalations to Guidewire.
- Share knowledge of the insurance industry with other team members as needed.
- Conduct formal interactions, workshops, and communicate with stakeholders to identify requirements and design solutions.
- Investigate possible use of new technologies.
Requirements
- Deep and specialized knowledge of the Japanese Property & Casualty Insurance industry is the most critical selection criterion for this Business Analyst role, requiring the ability to identify requirement gaps based on actual insurance business processes.
- Over 3 years of Business Analyst experience in technology implementation projects.
- Experience in defining business requirements such as process maps, use cases, and data mappings using Agile development methodologies.
- Japanese and English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency sufficient for independent communication with Guidewire global teams.
- Possession of a Guidewire Business Analyst certification is desirable, but candidates with Guidewire project experience are welcome to apply and may pursue certification after joining.
- Ability to create business scenarios directly based on the actual behavior of Guidewire products, defining specific product changes rather than just restating general business needs.
- Experience in business or IT-related roles within or for Japanese P&C insurance companies.
- Proven ability to independently validate requirements by leveraging the expert network within the partner company.
- Experience using AI-powered requirement definition support tools.
- Experience with multiple Guidewire products (e.g., both PolicyCenter and BillingCenter).
- Formal education or training in Business Analysis methodologies.
