About the Role
You are the interface between the animal shelter management and the specialist department. We are looking for you immediately as an Animal Care Service Manager (m/f/d) full-time.
Responsibilities
- Creation and coordination of duty and deployment planning
- Organization, control, and continuous optimization of workflows
- Technical guidance and supervision of animal care and husbandry
- Guidance, support, and further development of the animal care team
- Ensuring and continuous improvement of quality standards in animal husbandry
- Planning, organization, and coordination of internal and external training and further education measures
- Optimization and further development of processes in animal placement
- Personnel recruitment, onboarding, and personnel development
- Conducting regular employee reviews and promoting a appreciative feedback culture
- Planning, organization, and coordination of animal transports in compliance with all legal and animal welfare regulations
Requirements
- Completed training as an Animal Care Master (m/f/d) or a comparable qualification with several years of professional experience in animal care
- Several years of experience in leading and developing employees
- Distinct leadership and team skills as well as a cooperative leadership style
- Enjoyment of actively shaping work processes and continuously improving teamwork
- Openness to change and willingness to implement new ideas and developments
- Strong communication skills, high social competence, and appreciative interaction with people
- Confident and solution-oriented action – even in challenging situations

About the Company
- The Tierschutzverein für Berlin und Umgebung Corp. e.V. is one of the most experienced and largest animal welfare associations in Germany, committed to the protection and welfare of animals since its founding in 1841.
- The Tierheim Berlin cares for more than 1,300 animals daily.
- Europe's largest animal shelter cares for the homeless animals of the capital 365 days a year.
- The association's tasks include promoting practical animal welfare in Berlin and the surrounding area and conveying the ideas of animal welfare, environmental protection, and nature conservation.
