About the Role
The Control Functions team within IT Delivery is responsible for developing bespoke systems, reporting solutions, and integrations to meet business needs for Treasury, Finance, Tax, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Contracts and Settlements, and Product Control. The team focuses on delivering best-in-class, strategically aligned, robust, and operationally efficient solutions within a flat team structure, where each member is responsible for end-to-end delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop bespoke systems, reporting solutions, and integrations.
- Enhance existing applications and develop new solutions with a focus on database development and .Net application layer.
- Participate in the full delivery lifecycle, including analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices.
- Actively participate in shaping and delivering the team's evolving technology roadmap.
- Use technology appropriately and flexibly, considering company strategy and recommendations.
- Adhere to company standards and best practices, including documentation, testing, and peer reviews.
- Maintain the development infrastructure, including source code repository and continuous build/deployment facilities.
- Seek opportunities to deliver business value via innovation and stay updated with technology trends.
- Engage with the business or business analysts to define requirements and form solutions.
- Provide technical advice to business users.
- Work with other IT delivery members to progress EDFT IT technology stack and development processes.
- Keep abreast of industry technological developments and identify opportunities for new frameworks, technologies, and tools.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in design and implementation of bespoke software solutions.
- Previous experience in a development role working closely with both IT and business customers.
- Experience in the design and construction of software/application solutions.
- Understanding of software development patterns and their common applications.
- Ability to work with business and technical stakeholders to deliver suitable solutions.
- Knowledge of application development methodologies to create business-focused software solutions.
- Strong knowledge backed up with commercial experience of database architecture and design.
- Strong business intelligence and data visualization skills within the Microsoft domain.
- Strong DevOps and agile fundamentals.
- Experience in designing and building distributed systems using Microsoft C#, .NET Core and Web API.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server.
- Experience with deploying applications to Cloud infrastructure such as Azure.
- Experience in application containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in business intelligence using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Integration Services.
- Experience in Angular dashboard development.
- Understanding of Agile Development (SCRUM, Kanban).
- Understanding of automated continuous integration pipeline, including automated deployment.
- Knowledge in Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Knowledge in OneLake.
- Knowledge in SSIS, SSRS.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork and facilitation.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills.
- Ability to understand long-term and short-term perspectives.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
