About the Role

The Marketing Director, ANZ leads Brown-Forman’s marketing strategy and organization across Australia and New Zealand. This role is responsible for driving sustainable growth, building brand equity, innovating at scale, and shaping the long-term direction of the Brown-Forman portfolio across a mature region. As a key member of the ANZ Leadership Team and the APAC Marketing Leadership Team, this role partners closely with local, regional, and global stakeholders to ensure world-class marketing strategies, strong organizational capability, and breakthrough execution across ANZ.

Responsibilities

  • Defines and executes the long-term portfolio and marketing strategy across the ANZ region, aligning local brand plans, investment allocations, and growth initiatives with global priorities.
  • Develops and executes annual strategic plans, including portfolio and communications strategies.
  • Leads the development of brand strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives.
  • Monitors market trends and consumer behavior to inform strategic decisions.
  • Inspires and builds a high-performing, future-ready marketing team, fostering a culture of inclusion, accountability, agility, and continuous improvement while driving robust succession planning.
  • Oversees the effective execution and optimization of the full marketing mix – including brand communications, digital, advocacy, and channel marketing – while fostering an environment of innovation and calculated experimentation.
  • Oversees the innovation pipeline across Glass and RTD, identifying new opportunities and synergies within the portfolio, launching with scale and effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with global and regional teams, sales, finance, and supply teams to ensure cohesive execution of marketing plans, brand pricing & promotional guidance, and evaluates initiatives to enhance profitability.
  • Establishes clear performance metrics, minimizes non-working spend, and optimizes brand budget allocations to maximize corporate return on investment.
  • Leads the marketing agenda within the ANZ business, and contributes to driving a ‘high-performance culture’ within the ANZ leadership team, the MLT, and the broader organization.

Requirements

  • Extensive leadership experience steering marketing agendas within FMCG, beverage alcohol, luxury, or premium consumer goods environments.
  • Proven ability to operate, influence, and challenge commercial leaders within highly matrixed, international global organizations.
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial fluency, with a track record of translating consumer insights into actionable growth and managing complex brand budgets.
  • Visionary thinker who brings a long-term, broad perspective and big picture strategic insight.
  • Develop an enterprise-wide mindset by proactively sharing significant market achievements and learnings across the ALT Australia Leadership Team and Marketing Leadership Team (MLT).
  • Advanced capability in hiring, coaching, and developing multi-disciplinary teams alongside a track record of building impactful partnerships with external agencies.
  • Exceptional presentation and leadership communication capabilities, with absolute fluency in written and spoken English.
  • A proven personal passion for premium brand storytelling and cultivating exceptional consumer experience.
  • A proven ability to develop and launch NPD from scratch, with a deep understanding of the RTD category and dynamics a real benefit.
