About the Role
The Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner – External Engagements, Education and Research is responsible for supporting the delivery of proactive, safe, compliant and risk aware practices across External Engagements, Education and Research Divisions in the identification, management, and reduction of physical and psychosocial risks. The role supports the implementation of the University’s Work Health and Safety Management System and contributes to the development of a positive safety culture. This position plays a key role in injury prevention, workers compensation support, and compliance assurance.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the WHS Management System to ensure legislative compliance and effective risk management.
- Deliver risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions that improve safety outcomes.
- Provide trusted advice on physical, psychosocial and operational safety risks across diverse environments.
- Deliver engaging safety and wellbeing education programs that strengthens capability and awareness.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships that support a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- A degree in Work Health and Safety, Risk Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in WHS risk management within environments such as student experience, education & research divisions.
- Knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice, injury management frameworks and workers compensation processes.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and build relationships.
- Demonstrated understanding of complex research risks, including research integrity, ethics, foreign interference, security, operational and fieldwork-related risks, and the ability to assess and manage their potential impacts.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop practical risk-based solutions.
- You must provide evidence of full-time working rights in Australia at application.

- $118,969 – $132,069 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading
