About the Role
The Toronto office of Smith + Andersen is seeking an intermediate Deltek Vantagepoint Specialist to support the effective use, administration, and improvement of Vantagepoint. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining data, developing reports, improving workflows, and supporting system users. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, understanding business requirements, and translating them into practical system improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the evolution of Deltek Vantagepoint to support project delivery, operations, financial management, and resource planning.
- Design, build, and maintain custom reports, invoices, dashboards, KPIs, and data-quality controls.
- Develop custom Vantagepoint solutions, including hubs, fields, workflows, interfaces, and business process automation.
- Own the firm's reporting strategy, ensuring stakeholders have reliable operational and financial insights.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve business processes through system capabilities and emerging features.
- Act as the primary liaison with Deltek and external consultants for enhancements, troubleshooting, and technical initiatives.
- Maintain documentation, standards, and knowledge-sharing materials for system configurations and custom solutions.
- Support testing, adoption, training, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Deltek Vantagepoint (or Vision) within a project-based professional services environment.
- Expert knowledge of SQL Server, SQL, SSRS, RDL, and enterprise reporting best practices.
- Strong understanding of project accounting, financial management, operational metrics, and business workflows.
- Experience with XML, APIs, integrations, data migration, and information governance.
- Proficient with Git-based version control and collaborative development practices.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable system solutions.
- Comfortable working with executive leadership, operations, finance, project teams, IT, and external partners.
- Self-directed, highly organized, and capable of managing competing priorities in a complex environment.
