About the Role
The Sustainable Investing Research Associate conducts investment-relevant quantitative research to support State Street Investment Management’s sustainable investing research capability and solution innovation, meeting rising client demand. This role is based in London and reports to the Global Head of Sustainable Investing Research.
Responsibilities
- Provide rigorous analysis and generate relevant insights to inform product development and client solutions.
- Perform data due diligence and manage onboarding of sustainability/climate data vendors and platforms.
- Maintain and improve centralized sustainability data architecture (Python/SQL-based pipelines, curated datasets, analytical tools).
- Collaborate with investment and strategy teams to develop sustainable investment solutions.
- Enable SI research capabilities for product innovation.
- Contribute to white papers, research notes, and thought leadership.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in investment analytics or financial data roles.
- Strong working knowledge of Python and SQL for data extraction, cleaning, validation, and analysis.
- Hands‑on experience working with structured datasets and automated data pipelines, and identify data quality issues.
- Experience supporting data quality checks, monitoring, and reconciliation to ensure accurate delivery of data to investment or analytics teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset for recurring data deliverables.
- Experience producing analytical outputs, summaries, or research notes for internal stakeholders.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Good documentation habits to ensure transparency and continuity.
