About the Role
Own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Tyro Accounting, an established product entering its next phase of growth. This role involves shaping the future of a product used by small businesses by balancing customer needs, commercial outcomes, and technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the product strategy and roadmap for Tyro Accounting, aligning priorities with customer needs, commercial goals, and the broader Financial Management vision.
- Lead initiatives from discovery through to launch, partnering closely with Engineering and Design to deliver high-quality features that create real customer value.
- Build deep customer understanding through research, feedback, and product analytics, using insights to shape priorities and improve the customer experience.
- Define product requirements, user stories, and success metrics, balancing customer impact, business value, and technical feasibility to make informed trade-offs.
- Work closely with Growth, Customer Success, Risk, Compliance, and other stakeholders to deliver successful launches and keep teams aligned around shared outcomes.
- Champion data-driven product development, optimize existing experiences, and help drive key roadmap initiatives, including AI-powered capabilities and new accounting features.
Requirements
- Proven experience owning a product or product area, with responsibility for strategy, roadmap prioritization, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Confidence leading customer discovery, validating ideas, and translating customer needs into products that solve real problems.
- Strong experience working alongside engineers and designers to deliver products in agile environments, from concept through to release.
- A data-informed approach to decision-making, with the ability to balance customer outcomes, commercial priorities, and technical constraints.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across cross-functional teams and influence decisions.
- Experience in fintech, SaaS, banking, or accounting software is highly regarded.
- Familiarity with products like Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks is a bonus, but not essential.
- An interest in AI-enabled products is a bonus, but not essential.
