About the Role
As a Security Monitor, you will prepare shift documentation, ensure equipment is operational, and maintain facility cleanliness and resident safety. This role is crucial for upholding facility standards and contracting agency requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare shift documentation including shift reports, work orders, security reports, and unusual incidents.
- Ensure all necessary equipment for each watch is operational before assuming duty.
- Receive information from previous shift personnel regarding events, resident issues, and special instructions.
- Inform necessary personnel that the watch has been relieved and make log entries.
- Conduct radio checks and document the results.
- Perform facility counts at prescribed times and ensure logbook accuracy.
- Conduct frequent patrols to observe residents and monitor the state of the building.
- Ensure the building picture board accurately reflects assigned residents.
- Organize and supervise resident work details for facility cleanliness.
- Perform scheduled and random activities such as urinalysis testing, pat downs, shakedowns, counts, or breath tests.
- Document disciplinary actions for rule violations according to procedure.
- Conduct scheduled and impromptu cleanliness checks of the facility and residents' personal belongings.
Requirements
- Must be highly organized with a strong work ethic.
- Must have the flexibility to perform a wide range of duties.
- Ability to learn supervisory techniques and motivate others effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain positive relations with staff and residents.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of general work experience.
- Ability to work with computers and applicable software.
- Experience in a related field is preferred.
